Please advise when Lawyers Rights Watch Canada (LRWC) will be receive a reply from your office to our letter of September 29, 2010 calling for the release of all 43 health care workers arrested February 6, 2010 and the withdrawal of all charges against them.

LRWC is preparing a Formal Complaint and Call for Action to a number of the special mandate holders reporting the United Nations Human Rights Council regarding the illegal arrest, treatment and continued detention of the 43 health care workers. The Formal Complaint will be addressed to the Special Rapporteur on Torture, the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders, the Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women and the Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers.

LRWC has delayed sending our complaint on the health care workers case to the United Nations special mandate holders, in order to accord to your review of this case, proper respect and time.

We would appreciate a response to our September 29, 2010 letter. Thank you.
