On 31 March 2022, Lawyers for Lawyers and Lawyers’ Rights Watch Canada submitted a report for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Indonesia, scheduled to take place in November 2022.
The report highlights concerns regarding Indonesia’s compliance with its international human rights obligations to guarantee that lawyers are able to conduct their lawful professional activities without harassment or hindrance, as set out in the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers and other international human rights law instruments.
