The global problem of enforced disappearances: “Outside all protection of the law” Annex: Enforced disappearances in 17 countries This is an Annex to a written statement to the 54th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council submitted by Lawyers’ Rights Watch Canada, NGO with UN ECOSOC consultative status, and endorsed by the following NGOs without consultative status who share the views set out in the written statement and annex: Peacemakers Trust, The 29 Principles, the Network of Chinese Human Rights Defenders (CHRD), the Colombian Caravana, and Memorial Human Rights Defence Centre. Lawyers and human rights defenders have been subjected to enforced disappearances, or obstruction of their advocacy on behalf of the disappeared, in numerous countries on which Lawyers’ Rights Watch Canada or endorsers have conducted advocacy, including the following (alphabetical order).
