WILSON MÉSILIEN AND LOVINSKY PIERRE-ANTOINE – Coordinator and interim coordinator of the Fondasyon Trant Septanm

On 19 December 2007, a man posing as a journalist arrived at the Mesilien home seeking to confirm a rumour that Wilson Mesilien had been kidnapped. Out of fear for their safety, Mesilien and his family went into hiding. It is believed that their lives are in grave danger. Haitian authorities have ignored repeated requests from Amnesty International to provide the Mesiliens with protection.

Mesilien has been running the Fondasyon Trant Septanm human rights organization since 12 August 2007 when permanent coordinator Lovinsky Pierre-Antoine was kidnapped days after announcing his intention to run for Senator. His disappearance is believed to be connected to his role in publicizing human rights violations committed by the military government between 1991-1994 which contributed to the disbanding of the army in 1995. Lovinsky Pierre-Antoine’s whereabouts are still unknown.
