The Law Society of England and Wales in a letter endorsed by LRWC, calls for re-instatement of and due process for the more than 2,700 judges summarily dismissed on 16 July 2016. The dismissals, which took place immediately after what is referred to as the ‘attempted coup,’ were preceded by a variety of measures that undermining judicial independence and increased control by the Executive.
